My Family Tree Came With A Trigger Warning! I grew up in the small town of Henryville, Indiana and went from a high school dropout to a college professor. I have built a sacred, secure life for myself, one hard-earned choice at a time. Today, I am a CPA, a college professor, and a writer. People often ask how I got here. But I believe the more important question is how I have stayed here, rooted, resilient, and still willing to tell the truth. I share my stories not as polished success snapshots, but as lived experiences that hold both the ache and the beauty. The parts we carry. The parts we question. The parts we almost did not survive. Because when we speak honestly about where we come from, something shifts. We give others permission to hope. To heal. To imagine a different ending for themselves. My work is for anyone who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or “too much”, and is ready to reclaim their story on their own terms. I believe this deeply: Remember: Your Story Matters. Your Truth Heals.™
